Baseball Recap: Dunmore Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Old Forge, Dunmore was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They never let the Western Wayne Wildcats get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Bucks have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dunmore got a massive performance out of Jackson Cady, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Cady a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matt Iezzi, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Dunmore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Wayne only posted an OBP of .125.

Dunmore's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Western Wayne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Dunmore will head out on the road to square off against Holy Cross at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bucks are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Western Wayne, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Dallas at 4:30 p.m. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mountaineers have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
