Basketball Game Preview: Lesterville Bearcats vs. Greenville Bears

Lesterville and Greenville are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Lesterville Bearcats will square off against the Greenville Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lesterville came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of South Iron by a score of 42-40 on Saturday. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Greenville took a blow against Neelyville on Tuesday, falling 70-27.

Greenville suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 8-7. As for Lesterville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Lesterville was able to grind out a solid win over Greenville in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 53-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lesterville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
