After a string of four wins, Spring Mills's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the GVCS Broadfording Lions by a score of 5-4. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 11-10.

Spring Mills' loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for GVCS Broadfording, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Coming up, Spring Mills will square off against Fairland at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for GVCS Broadfording, they will challenge Grace Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.2 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
