Heritage is 8-2 against Lenoir City since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mountaineers will venture away from home to challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Heritage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Heritage came out on top against Sequoyah on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Mountaineers never let the Chiefs get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The Mountaineers have beaten the Chiefs the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Chiefs has come to flipping the script.

Gaven French was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hayden Sanders, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was William (Thomas) Bowers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lenoir City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against South-Doyle by a score of 5-2 on Monday.
Lenoir City's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Branson Dean, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Luke Chadwick was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Heritage's record now sits at 19-11. As for Lenoir City, their record is now 8-19.
Lenoir City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Heritage hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Lenoir City, though, as they've only averaged .223. Will they be able to contain Heritage's hitters?
Heritage took their victory against Lenoir City in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 10-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mountaineers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
