Recap: Richmond Red Devils vs. New Palestine Dragons

It was a good run, but the Richmond Red Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their 16-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to New Palestine 64-59. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Richmond in their matchups with New Palestine: they've now lost three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Richmond lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cedric Horton. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points. Horton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Carpenter, who scored 13 points.

Richmond's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-1. As for New Palestine, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richmond will take on Centerville at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Centerville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Richmond is ranked 18th). As for New Palestine, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Roncalli at 7:30 p.m.
