Football Recap: Skyline Finds Playoff Glory Versus Meridian + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Skyline walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 22-8 win over the Meridian Mustangs on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Zayden Burks was his usual excellent self, rushing for 236 yards and three scores. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 124 rushing yards.

Burks was just one part of a punishing run game: Skyline was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meridian only rushed for 101.

Skyline's record is now 8-3. As for Meridian, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Coming up, Skyline will challenge Culpeper County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so the Hawks' offense will have their work cut out for them. Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
