Softball Game Preview: Central Hardin Bruins vs. Warren East Raiders

The Central Hardin Bruins will head out to challenge the Warren East Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central Hardin will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

While Central Hardin's victory against Nelson County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bruins skirted past the Cardinals 4-2.

Cumberland County hit Warren East with a five-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Raiders have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Lydia Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Brooks, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI.

Central Hardin pushed their record up to 23-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Warren East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-11 record this season.

Central Hardin came out on top in a nail-biter against Warren East when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
