Volleyball Recap: Battle Creek's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After a string of four wins, Battle Creek's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Battle Creek's offense was headlined by Ryder Wehrle and Karley Freudenburg, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Ava Kuchar and her ten assists. Wehrle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Battle Creek's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-1.

Battle Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against St. Paul on the 27th. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Oakland-Craig on the 27th.
