Baseball Recap: Lewiston Comes Up Short

Lewiston dropped to 18-8 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 8-2 to the Sandpoint Bulldogs. The Golden Bengals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

As for Sandpoint, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 20-2. Considering they have won 17 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Sandpoint's part, Sage Medeiros made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 5.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Medeiros has posted over his last five matchups. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Mason Little was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Dallen Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

As of now, neither Lewiston nor Sandpoint have any future games scheduled.
