Basketball Recap: Sundown Takes a Loss

Sundown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Plains Cowboys. While losing is never fun, the Roughnecks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 773rd, while the Cowboys are ranked 274th).

Sundown's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Plains, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Morton the next time they take the court. Plains will host Morton at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Sundown will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on January 31st.
