Spearfish extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-6 in the process. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Watertown Arrows. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked the Spartans' highest-scoring game to date.

Liv Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Danika Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Watertown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.

On Watertown's side, the team relied heavily on Aleia Johnston, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Alayna Dettmann was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Spearfish wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-0 loss against Brookings on the 9th. As for Watertown, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against Sturgis Brown on the 9th.
