Baseball Game Preview: Cloverleaf Colts vs. Coventry Comets

The Cloverleaf Colts will venture away from home to square off against the Coventry Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Cloverleaf easily dispatched Springfield on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Colts fell just short of Tuslaw by a score of 9-7 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Colts have suffered since May 5, 2025.

Meanwhile, Coventry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Minerva.

Brandon Graham was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryan Snyder, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Cloverleaf's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Coventry, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Cloverleaf beat Coventry 7-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
