Basketball Recap: Cuba/Spoon River Valley Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cuba/Spoon River Valley can now relate to. They fell 37-28 to the Lewistown Indians on Saturday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Lewistown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joley McLaughlin out in front who went 6-for-8 on her way to 13 points and five boards. What's more, McLaughlin also posted a 75% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carsyn Braun, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Lewistown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-17 record this season.

As of now, neither Cuba/Spoon River Valley nor Lewistown have any future games scheduled.
