Softball Recap: Grace Christian Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Grace Christian hadn't done well against Hicks recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Warriors came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 11-7. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 6-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Rylee Guillot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, Bella Acree and Chloe Courtright did most of the damage at the plate: Acree went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Courtright went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave Courtright a new career-high. Sydney Avery was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Grace Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Hicks, they moved to 22-6 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Grace Christian nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
