Softball Recap: Cannelton Triumphs

Cannelton took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against Shoals, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Jug Rox on Saturday, sneaking past 16-15. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cannelton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Shoals, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, Cannelton will take on South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Shoals, they will square off against Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
