Baseball Game Preview: Broomfield Eagles vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

The Broomfield Eagles will square off against the Roosevelt Roughriders at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.

Broomfield had taken Rocky Mountain down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. Broomfield fell just short of Rocky Mountain by a score of 7-6. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Broomfield got a good showing from Ethan Zufall, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Caden Williamson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Fritch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt beat Parkrose 7-4 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Roughriders.

Roosevelt also got a great performance from Finn Houseman as he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mitch Geiger, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cal Hare, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Broomfield fell to 3-1. As for Roosevelt, their record is now 2-0.
