Recap: Bertie Falcons vs. Wilson Prep Tigers

The Bertie Falcons won the last time they faced the Wilson Prep Tigers, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Bertie managed a 51-45 victory over Wilson Prep.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bertie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kydra Brown, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Bertie's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rakiyah Peele, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nakiya Boston, who scored 19 points. Boston scored a full 42.2% of Wilson Prep's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Niiyana Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Bertie now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wilson Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bertie will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hunt at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Wilson Prep, they will be playing at home against Northampton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
