Softball Game Preview: Cold Springs Eagles vs. Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Lions

The Cold Springs Eagles will square off against the Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Lions at 9:00 a.m. on Monday.

Cold Springs heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Monday. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sumiton Christian. The win made it back-to-back victories for Cold Springs.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Lane Christian Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Wildcats.

Not much got past Madi Tucker, who gave up just five hits to keep Tharptown off the board. Tucker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Leigha Carder, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Briley Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Cold Springs dropped their record down to 12-20-2 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Lindsay Lane Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 28-8-1.
