Baseball Recap: Archbishop Mitty Comes Up Short

Archbishop Mitty had taken Saint Francis down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Monarchs took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. The Monarchs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Archbishop Mitty saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Allen, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Archbishop Mitty now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Saint Francis, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

While Archbishop Mitty had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
