Softball Game Preview: Skyline Vikings vs. Plainview Bears

Skyline is 0-5 against Plainview since April of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Bears at 5:00 p.m.

Skyline is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Sardis, falling 9-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Plainview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Crossville on Friday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Plainview is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 7-21.

Skyline might still be hurting after the 13-1 defeat they got from Plainview in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
