Volleyball Recap: Plainfield Takes Down Avon in a Playoff Battle

Plainfield had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Avon Orioles on Saturday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Quakers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Leading Plainfield to victory were Evie Ellis and Savannah Brock. Ellis had 23 digs and four aces, while Brock had ten digs and two aces. Those 23 digs gave Ellis a new career-high.

Plainfield's victory bumped their record up to 26-5. As for Avon, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-22.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Plainfield and Lawrence North will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Avon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
