Basketball Game Preview: North Fort Myers Red Knights vs. Cape Coral Seahawks

North Fort Myers is on a 12-game streak of home wins, while Cape Coral is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The North Fort Myers Red Knights will welcome the Cape Coral Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Fort Myers' defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so Cape Coral's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, North Fort Myers made easy work of Dunbar and carried off a 49-29 victory. The Red Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

North Fort Myers' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bianca Iten, who almost dropped a triple-double on ten points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. Iten has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Amrey Stockeland was another key player, putting up 18 points.

North Fort Myers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Cape Coral didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Bonita Springs on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 41-35 victory.

North Fort Myers has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.1 points per game. As for Cape Coral, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.

North Fort Myers was able to grind out a solid victory over Cape Coral when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 43-30. Does North Fort Myers have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cape Coral turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
