North Medford scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the South Salem Saxons an easy 87-61 victory. The Black Tornado were not able to make up for their defeat to the Saxons from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Bryan Nunez and Liam Rea certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Nunez went 6-for-10 en route to 19 points and four steals, while Rea shot 56% from the field on his way to 23 points. Jaxon Zimmer also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

North Medford's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5. Those road defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for South Salem, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, North Medford will be taking part in a tournament against Mountainside at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Black Tornado will need to watch out since the Mavericks have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for South Salem, they will be home for the holidays to greet Roseburg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
