Softball Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

Foothill lost against Livermore back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Foothill fell just short of Livermore by a score of 5-3.

Foothill got a good showing from Avana Vangipuram, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Vangipuram gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Ellie Novitske made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1. As for Livermore, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Foothill will face off against rival Dublin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Livermore is set to challenge their familiar foe Amador Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
