Calvary Baptist came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Lucerne Valley Mustangs by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Calvary Baptist was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-10.

Alexandra Martin paced Calvary Baptist's offense, picking up seven kills. Martin got some help from Tatiana Dashjian and her ten assists. Dashjian was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Calvary Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Lucerne Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, Calvary Baptist and Lucerne Valley will both be playing Avalon the next time they take the court. The Cougars will head out to face the Lancers at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
