Baseball Recap: Rolesville Takes a Loss

Rolesville scored first but ultimately less than Apex in their game on Monday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 12-5. While the Rams didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 4-0 in the first period.

Rolesville got a good showing from Carter Steelman, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Furthermore, Steelman didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Zach Overton was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Leicht, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Rolesville's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Apex, their record now sits at 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rolesville will take on Voyager Academy in a tournament on Tuesday. As for Apex, they will be taking part in a tournament against Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
