Baseball Recap: NCSSM: Durham Comes Up Short

NCSSM: Durham had lost 18 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-11 to make it 19. They lost 9-0 to the Franklin Academy Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 on April 4th.

As for Franklin Academy, their record is now 5-10. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season.

For Franklin Academy's part, they let Chase Liner and Peyton Rivers run wild. Liner went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Rivers went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Franklin Academy is undefeated when Liner posts two or more runs, but 2-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Anderson, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

NCSSM: Durham has already played their next matchup, a 6-4 victory against Neuse Charter on the 24th. As for Franklin Academy, they will square off against Falls Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
