Basketball Game Preview: Monroe Bearcats vs. Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks

The Monroe Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Monroe will be strutting in after a win while Marysville-Pilchuck will be coming in after a loss.

Monroe is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 67-29 victory over Marysville Getchell. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Marysville-Pilchuck was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 30th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 51-17 loss at the hands of Everett. The Tomahawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-9.

Monroe has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Marysville-Pilchuck, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-19.

Everything came up roses for Monroe against Marysville-Pilchuck when the teams last played last Wednesday, as the team secured a 59-11 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monroe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
