Recap: Apex Cougars vs. Green Hope Falcons
Even though The Apex Cougars have not done well against the Green Hope Falcons recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Apex breezed by Green Hope on the road to the tune of 39-12. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-6.
Jayvion Danzy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 292 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Danzy was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.
Despite the loss, Green Hope still got an impressive performance from Jameson Walsh, who rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns.
Apex's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Green Hope, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Apex will head out on the road to face off against New Bern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Bern is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Green Hope does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
