Basketball Recap: KIPP Nashville Collegiate Comes Up Short

KIPP Nashville Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 98-10 loss at the hands of the Stratford Spartans. The Warriors lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 51-10 score last time.

Hannah Johnson was her usual excellent self, going 13 for 20 en route to 31 points and three steals for Stratford. Johnson is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylee Dewalt, who posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

KIPP Nashville Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Stratford, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

KIPP Nashville Collegiate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 0-0 loss against East Nashville Magnet on the 16th. Stratford has also already played their next game, a 64-23 victory against Stem Preparatory Academy on the 17th.
