Volleyball Recap: Montini Catholic's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Montini Catholic waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack. Surprisingly, this marked the Broncos' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

While Montini Catholic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21.

Moira Quirk paced Montini Catholic's offense, picking up seven kills. Quirk got some help from Avalyn DeKeyser and her 21 assists. Finally, Paige Pittman kept Montini Catholic's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Montini Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Saint Ignatius College Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Montini Catholic will face off against rival St. Laurence at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Saint Ignatius College Prep is set to take on their familiar foe St. Francis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
