Softball Recap: Westview Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Westview lost against Dyer County on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Westview Chargers lost 17-3 to the Dyer County Choctaws. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Chargers have suffered against the Choctaws since April 30, 2019.

McCall Sims was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Annelise Hayden was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Westview's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Dyer County, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Coming up, Westview will host Crockett County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Westview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Dyer County, they will face off against Arlington at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Arlington also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 6.2 runs per game.
