Soccer Game Preview: Lafayette vs. Marquette

Lafayette has won four straight games at home, while Marquette has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Lancers will welcome the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lafayette's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Eureka. Lafayette's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six contests.

Meanwhile, Marquette made easy work of Northwest on Thursday and carried off a 4-0 win. Considering Marquette have won six matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lafayette is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those ten contests. As for Marquette, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
