Softball Recap: Baldwin Park Takes a Loss

Baldwin Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Arroyo Knights, falling 18-3. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Baldwin Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Murrilo, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Edie Arvizuv also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Baldwin Park's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Arroyo, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baldwin Park will face off against Calvary Chapel at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Baldwin Park has given up an average of 16.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Arroyo, they will challenge El Rancho at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. El Rancho is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
