The Chief Paul Memorial Falcons gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-39 victory over Nelson Island.
Despite the loss, Nelson Island still got an impressive performance from Brennan Lincoln, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Lincoln scored a full 38.5% of Nelson Island's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gordon Pitka, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Chief Paul Memorial's victory was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21.67 points. As for Nelson Island, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-1.
Chief Paul Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Nelson Island also has no future games currently scheduled.
