Preview: Fox Tech Buffaloes vs. Gonzales Apaches
Fox Tech has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Gonzales Apaches at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fox Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
Last Friday, Fox Tech came up short against La Vernia and fell 50-43. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fox Tech in their matchups with La Vernia: they've now lost eight in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Anthony Reyes, who scored nine points along with six assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Moreno, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Gonzales lost to Young Men's Leadership Academy on the road by a decisive 61-46 margin on Friday. Gonzales has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fox Tech has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season. As for Gonzales, their loss dropped their record down to 7-23.
Fox Tech beat Gonzales 58-49 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fox Tech since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
