Basketball Recap: San Juan Hills' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Esperanza came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against San Juan Hills, but Mason Hodges wouldn't allow it. The San Juan Hills Stallions walked away with a 72-59 win over the Esperanza Aztecs on Tuesday thanks in part to Hodges, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 17 boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of San Juan Hills' points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Aziz, who posted eight points along with 11 assists and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Esperanza lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brody Reeds, who went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points. Alex Van Otterloo was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight boards.

With the victory, San Juan Hills broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-6. As for Esperanza, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.

San Juan Hills has already played their next game, a 68-33 win against Dana Hills on the 10th. As for Esperanza, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-45 victory against Pacifica on the 10th.
