Recap: Meridian Wildcats vs. Brandon Bulldogs
The Meridian Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 35 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brandon. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Meridian in their matchups with Brandon: they've now lost eight in a row.
Nate Blount iv got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Jamerion Rollins made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Brandon, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Meridian will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Pearl at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Pearl is ranked 15th, while Meridian is ranked 26th). As for Brandon, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwest Rankin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northwest Rankin is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
