Baseball Game Preview: McMinn County Cherokees vs. Rhea County Golden Eagles

For the second straight game, McMinn County will face off against Rhea County. The Cherokees will head out to take on the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

McMinn County is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since March 19th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rhea County, sneaking past 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cherokees.

For Rhea County's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halston Shaver, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Shaver's first of the season. Another was Casen Kinney, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Rhea County has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for McMinn County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
