Softball Recap: Byron-Bergen Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Byron-Bergen). They blew past Red Jacket 27-7 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Janessa Amesbury was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauren Gartz, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs.

Byron-Bergen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Byron-Bergen's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3. As for Red Jacket, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
