The Hillsboro Indians will square off against the Williamsburg Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Hillsboro and Clinton-Massie meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Indians took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.

Hillsboro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Cornele, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Dylan Bender also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Williamsburg). They put the hurt on Felicity-Franklin with a sharp 15-5 win on Wednesday. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Aaron Hatter was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Michael Corcoran, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

Williamsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hillsboro's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Williamsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
