The Reading Blue Devils will take on the Mercy McAuley Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Reading is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
Reading took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Clark Montessori get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Reading got a massive performance out of Hailey Mowell, who fired off three triples, five RBI, and one run while going 4-for-4. Those three triples gave Mowell a new career-high. Brooke Androne was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Reading was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Mercy McAuley came up short against Anderson on Saturday and fell 8-4.
Mercy McAuley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Callie Elmer, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Reading pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mercy McAuley, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
Mercy McAuley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Reading has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Mercy McAuley, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Reading's sizable advantage in that area, the Wolves will need to find a way to close that gap.
