Baseball Recap: Tupelo Takes a Loss

After flying high against Starkville on Friday, Tupelo came back down to earth. The Golden Wave fell 9-4 to the Itawamba Agricultural Indians on Saturday. The Golden Wave were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Landon Swinney made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Tyler Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Tupelo's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Itawamba Agricultural, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-7.

Tupelo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Clinton on the 8th. As for Itawamba Agricultural, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Amory on the 8th.
