Volleyball Game Preview: Perquimans Pirates vs. Lejeune Devilpups

The Perquimans Pirates will challenge the Lejeune Devilpups at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Perquimans will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Perquimans won the last time they faced Holmes and Hayleigh Solesbee did her part to make sure it happened again. The Pirates blew past the Aces 3-0 on Wednesday with plenty of help from Solesbee, who had 12 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Perquimans never let Holmes on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-13, 25-22.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lejeune had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Vikings.

Lejeune now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Perquimans, their victory bumped their record up to 24-3.
