Basketball Recap: Beatrice Comes Up Short

Beatrice was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 53-44 to the Ralston Rams. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Orangemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-38 last Friday.

Ralston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lamar Rucker led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Manyok Manyok, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Beatrice's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Ralston, their record is now 7-9.

Beatrice and Ralston could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. Beatrice (ranked 217th) will meet Norris (ranked second) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ralston will square off against Platteview at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th down 106 places (141 vs. 35).
