Recap: Hough Huskies vs. West Charlotte Lions
The Hough Huskies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 65-52 win over West Charlotte. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Hough has managed all season.
Blake Desautels was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 22 points along with three steals. Cole Skovira was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
West Charlotte's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Coleman, who scored 13 points. The contest was Coleman's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amen Pressley, who scored 13 points.
Hough's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for West Charlotte, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Hough will head out on the road to face off against Mallard Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Mallard Creek's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. West Charlotte won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Victory Christian Center at 8:30 p.m. on January 6th. Victory Christian Center presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Charlotte in North Carolina (Victory Christian Center is ranked 22nd, while West Charlotte is ranked 173rd).
