Basketball Game Preview: Tooele Buffaloes vs. Park City Miners

Tooele is 9-1 against Park City since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Tooele Buffaloes will venture away from home to take on the Park City Miners at 7:00 p.m. Park City took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Tooele, who comes in off a win.

Tooele will head into Friday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a 26-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Ogden 45-43.

Halle Hogan had a dynamite game for Tooele, putting up 16 points in addition to five assists and five boards. That's the most boards Hogan has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Lora, who posted six points along with 11 boards and five steals.

Tooele smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Park City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Cottonwood, falling 46-25. While losing is never fun, the Miners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Colts are ranked 18th).

Tooele will need focus on slowing down Kalynn Nickell, one of several Park City players who made an impact when they last played. She put up seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Flach, who posted five points.

Tooele has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Park City, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Tooele took their win against Park City in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 59-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tooele since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
