Preview: Otis-Bison Cougars vs. Macksville Mustangs
Otis-Bison has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Macksville Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Otis-Bison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Macksville is ranked 116th).
Last Friday, Otis-Bison earned a 52-45 win over Ness City. The victory was just what Otis-Bison needed coming off of a 59-25 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Macksville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 51-27 loss at the hands of Bucklin. Macksville has struggled against Bucklin recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Macksville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kambry Adams, who scored six points along with three steals, and Laney Butler who scored six points along with two steals.
Macksville struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Otis-Bison's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Macksville, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Otis-Bison took a serious blow against Macksville when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 54-18. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Otis-Bison was down 35-7.
