Softball Recap: Hampton Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Stonebridge

After only one run in their last matchup, Hampton Christian Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against StoneBridge on Tuesday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Cavaliers. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Reese Krantz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hampton Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Elli Turner, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Turner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lexie Dennis, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.

Hampton Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as StoneBridge only posted an OBP of .318.

The win got Hampton Christian Academy back to even at 2-2.

The Cavaliers have a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with 13 straight losses, while the Gators will come in with three straight victories.
