Basketball Recap: Gordon-Rushville Falls Despite Big Games from Braylon Holston and Daniel Martins

Gordon-Rushville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 43-34 to the Bennett County Warriors. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Gordon-Rushville's loss came despite strong showings from Daniel Martins and Braylon Holston. Martins went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and six steals, while Holston dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Martins is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Gordon-Rushville's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Bennett County, they moved to 1-2 with that win, which also ended their 15-game losing streak.

Gordon-Rushville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kimball at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bennett County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Lyman at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
